Description

The Pacific Northwest Flute Gathering (a.k.a. Vashon Island Flute Gathering) is one of the longest-running residential retreats featuring the Native American style flute, indigenous to the North American continent. It takes place on the beautiful Vashon Island in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

In addition to workshops, classes and concerts focusing on the Native flute, activities include options for didgeridoo and percussion. The retreat is lead by some of the finest teachers, performers and recording artists in the US:

  • Cornell Kinderknecht, flute, retreat director
  • Pamela Mortensen, didgeridoo, flute
  • Joseph L Young, flute, percussion, recording
  • Timothy JP Gomez, flute

Our event is a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere designed to maximize curiosity, learning and creativity. One of the key ingredients of this gathering is the camaraderie — friendship, bonding, personal growth and expression are a big part of what makes this event so popular.
