Description
For experienced players who have completed Creating Songs Parts 1 – 4 with Cornell and have participated in previous Friday afternoon sessions.
In this installment of the Native Flute Player’s Music Workshop, we’ll look further into creating music for solo flute, multiple flutes, or flute combined with other instruments.
- Exploring the relationships between melody and rhythm in our compositions.
- Musical tools for working with multiple voices: imitation, ostinato, obbligato, countermelody
- Incorporating our own composition style
- Draw upon previous work with perspective, texture, mood/emotion and scene painting
Some experience with notation, tablature and number systems will be helpful for this class. Native flutes and other world flute traditions are welcome.
