Description
This class is open to those who have taken the courses Creating Songs parts 1 through 4 with Cornell and have participated in previous Tuesday evening sessions. In this installment of the NAF Creative Workshop, we’ll take a fresh and deeper look at using music to express mood, emotion and human experience:
- Constructing melodies that express our feelings towards conceptual ideas like mood and emotion
- Exploring tension and dissonance
- Experiment with complexity and simplicity in melody
- Draw upon previous work with perspective, texture, mood/emotion, scene-painting and possibly Leitmotif
Some experience with notation, tablature and number systems will be helpful for this class. Native flutes and other world flute traditions are welcome.
